When you’re in the midst of a great adventure, one of the last things you want to think about (or even worry about for that matter) is how decent you look. I know for me, when I’m travelling the first thing that crosses my mind when I wake up is usually something along the lines of “Woo! What am I going to get up to today?!” After my morning pee and feed, I’m usually pretty keen to get outside and start exploring. That is, until I steal a glimpse of myself in the mirror and the reflection very clearly reveals what I got up to the night before.
What is there that you can do that both hides the previous nights misadventures and doesn’t take up loads of room in your luggage? Lucky for you guys, I learnt the hard way and have come out the other end with a list of beauty essentials that will have you looking like the best version of yourself in less than 10 minutes, taking up little room in your luggage also!

Super Awkward Selfie
Make Up
If you’re battling with a hangover or severely itchy feet, you don’t want your morning beauty regime to take up too much time. Sticking with the less is more look will have you looking flawless and will waste minimal time!
My top make-up-must-haves for travel are:
- A good concealer – To cover all the blotchy bits. READ: dark under-eye circles.
- Mineral Foundation – To finish covering up your blemishes and even out your skin tone. I prefer a mineral foundation as it allows my skin to breathe.
- Bronzer – A quick brush of bronzer over your cheekbones to give your face some colour!
- A good Mascara – A slick of mascara over your lashes to make your eyes pop!
Ta-da! Evidence from last night’s party is now gone and if you bump into Zac Efron out the front of the Lourve, you’re in fine form for it 😉

Top 5 Beauty Essentials
Additional Essentials:
Perfume: Cool by Ralph Lauren
Lips: Lucas Paw Paw Ointment (can also be used for bites, scratches and tattoo ointment)
Of course, always remember to slip, slop, slap and drink plenty of water.
Happy Adventuring!
Haha love your post & the awkward selfie! 😉
Packed these 5 things along with me on my exchange semester, accompanied by tons of perfume 😉
Thanks! Haha oh man, choosing just 1 perfume to travel with is always a really tough decision!
I’m a make up geek. Well now I control my self but this a nice list. I will tell you my travel beauty essential for a latina with very fair skin person: self-tanning lotion. Not much of course, I don’t want to look orange.
Great post – I used to travel without any make up, but now I always carry some essentials with me. You never know, you could meet a really hot guy somewhere… 🙂
Helpful advice! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Very cute. Love the simplicity of your travel beauty kit.
I love this post! Right up my alley! In fact – what is the lipstick you’re wearing in the selfie, ha? No but really? 🙂
Jessica
Haha I’m glad you like it! Thank you! I’m actually not wearing any lipstick, I never do. That’s just my lips all naked haha
Cute. I take a little more than that when I travel.
Yes! This is what my bag looks like too. I love packing “minimal” and then making a run to the local drugstore just to check out what they have in a different county.
Every time I’ve traveled with perfume it always leaks 🙁 Great tips, I struggle with beauty on my travels, then I look at pictures later on and I’m like, “what was I thinking?” haha
I am SO high maintenance when it comes to skincare and makeup, I seriously think it’s time for me to made a bit more simple, which is why this post definitely helps! Thanks! 🙂 xx
Paw paw ointment is the BOMB! And noone knows about it! I’m constantly raving about it in London.
