📸 OBSESSED with how this print turned out! One of my favourite things about shooting with film is the suspense and not knowing how your pictures will turn out. It really forces you to A) learn how to use a camera and B) be savvy with the pictures you take. - This 📷 was taken at Kelly Falls, near where I live. A short hike from the car park leads you to this swimming hole. If you’re interested in doing the hike, check out my latest blog post (link in bio). It’s a fun hike and makes for a good day trip from Sydney 😊 - 📷 Canon EX AUTO QL
Those that know me could tell you that if you need me on the weekends, chances are you’ll find me hiking somewhere 🏃🏽♀️ I’m pretty lucky in that I live in a little slice of the world, where I have the ocean to one side and an expansive escarpment to the other. This means sweet hikes with killer views! 😍 In the name of sharing, I wrote a blog post (link in bio), about my 5 favourite local hikes.
Crazy to think that just 1.5hours north of Perth is this other-planet-like landscape. The Pinnacles limestone formations were formed over millions of years, rising tall spires from the grounds of the yellow sands of Nambung National Park. 🏜
SO EXCITED! 🤗 I was recently given two film cameras - Ricoh KR-10 (given as a gift) and a Canon EX AUTO QL (found at a trash & treasure market - winning!). I’ve spent the last couple of weeks playing around with both of them, hoping that they work - the beauty of film, right?! Anyway, received my developed scans from @lovelyfilmlab and am SO HAPPY! Not only did both cameras actually work, but there were some decent images on both rolls too WOOHOO! 🥳 So prepare yourselves, there’s gonna be an onslaught of film photos shared; get excited! 📷 Canon EX AUTO QL
Can you spot the plane? ✈️ • Lol, if I can’t be in them, I can at least watch the planes take off and imagine I’m leaving for an adventure too right? Too nerdy? 😅
Happy FriYAY Friends! So, I was listening to the @HelloSunshine How It Is podcast this morning (if you’re not already listening to all of Hello Sunshine’s podcasts, you need to get amongst it - so good!); it was an episode about ‘playing’ and harnessing joy through hardship. The messaging in the episode has had me thinking all day about the importance of happiness and how much we all need to nourish ourselves to ensure that our well-being is always a priority. Surround yourself with people who share the same values and beliefs as you; do what makes you truly feel alive; LIVE UNAPOLOGETICALLY! Another point that was touched on in this episode was the notion of getting to know yourself beyond ‘what you do’ and ‘where you’re from’. It’s something I’ve never realised, but it’s so true - whenever you’re at a social event with new people, the first question often asked is ‘so, what do you do’ and ‘where are you from’. The problem with this, is that this isn’t a true representation of who you are as a person; it’s not what you want to be remembered for. Rather, we need to start learning more about ourselves and who we are at the core of our being. So, let me get started, I’m Kachina, I LOVE to travel and spend time outdoors. I’m passionate about doing my part in creating awareness with regards to health security in developing countries. I’m caring, I’m outgoing and you can always make me laugh with a good fart joke. Now it’s your turn - tell me about you, beyond the job title and hometowns!
